Known in the Middle Ages for its therapeutic, Armagnac was developing steadily in the 19th century.
Towards 1878, phylloxera destroyed almost all of the vineyard.
However, little by little, the vine will relocate in the Armagnac and it is in 1909 that a decree defines the area of this brandy to Appellaion d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC).
The decree of August 6, 1936 will specify the conditions for the development of Armagnac.
